World Cup rules changed 2022
There was a rule change before the World Cup in Qatar. FIFA announced that the World Cup squad has been increased from 23 players to 26 players. An additional 96 players will be able to go to the World Cup.
The World Cup, which took less than five months, has undergone a rule change. FIFA has approved the national team rosters to be 26 players in the 2022 World Cup. In the statement made by FIFA, it was stated that considering the different timing of the World Cup on the calendar and the devastating effects of the coronavirus epidemic before and during the tournament, it was decided that there should be at least 23 and a maximum of 26 players in the national teams. In the European Football Championship held last year, 26-man squads were allowed for national teams, and 28-man squads were allowed in the Copa America and African Nations Cup in South America.
The 2022 World Cup, which everyone is eagerly waiting for and which will be held in winter months unlike normal, will be played in Qatar between 21 November and 18 December. An extra 96 players will be able to attend the World Cup.
