Social media giant TikTok is rolling out TikTok Shopping through e-commerce company Shopify, where product catalogs can be synced and connected to online stores for payment.
The feature, which will be added as a new tab to the TikTok application, will be available to merchants with a TikTok For Business account. The beta of the program, which will start in the United States and the United Kingdom, will open to some users in Canada in the coming weeks, and new regions in the coming months.
In addition to the new program, Shopify and TikTok will allow users to tag product links in TikTok posts, and these tags will direct users to the seller’s online store. Bringing a program similar to the showcase feature that Instagram has, TikTok will offer shopping and opportunities to its own social media phenomena and users.
