If you're anything like me, you probably use your heated styling tools way too much (#guilty).
Yes yes, your beloved curling wand or trusty hair straighteners will give you the hair of your dreams, but they can also be seriously damaging on your hair, causing split ends, flyaways and wispy baby hairs.
You're also probably guilty of skipping a heat protectant spray, right? That's exactly where you're going wrong.
These clever spritzes basically create a shield between your precious hair and your super hot styling tools, to ensure hair isn't left a frazzled, split end-ridden mess.
Need proof they actually work? This viral video is providing just that.
Dye It Yourself.
Celebrity hairdresser Samantha Cusick, who works with Zoella, took to Instagram to share a video for her 'fellow visual learners out there' to prove how effective heat protectant sprays really are.
The video, captioned 'This is why you need a heat protectant spray in your routine', shows her placing a metal stencil onto a piece of toast and spritzing the bread with a heat protectant spray. She then pops the toast in the toaster and when she removes it, shows how the spray has protected the part she spritzed. Clever!

"I keep seeing theses heat protection videos on Instagram and had to give it try (with an @samanthacusicklondon twist of course)," she said.
"I used a little spritz of @ghdhair bodyguard heat protection spray and the results speak for themselves."
They really do.
Her post has garnered hundreds of likes and comments from impressed users who said it's made them finally believe in the power of heat protectant sprays. Anyone else feeling slightly guilty about shunning theirs all these years? *Rushes to Amazon to buy a new one*
