Michael Patrick King, producer of Sex And The City and its sequel Just Like That, said that Garson “worked even when he was sick”, but did not elaborate on any illness:

“His spirit and dedication to his art was with him every day. He will be greatly missed by all, both as a person and as an actor of many talents.”

Garson had been campaigning for adoption seriously and adopted her son, Nathen, in 2009.

Nathen also said goodbye to Garson by sharing her father’s photos on her Instagram account:

“I am very happy that you have lived all your adventures with me and accomplished many things. I am so proud of you. I will always love you.”
