Pokemon Go: Egg Types
First, there is a wide variety of eggs for players to hatch. Each egg has different Pokemon and requires different distances to walk. There are green-spotted eggs that take about 2 kilometers to hatch. There are 5 kilometer eggs with yellow spots. The 7-kilometer egg is yellow with pink spots (only Alolan has eggs). Then there is the standard purple speckled egg, which is 10 kilometers away. Purple eggs will usually be rarer than Pokemon. Each egg spawns a different type of Pokemon, and the potential Pokemon changes periodically along with its chance to hatch.
It is also worth noting that there is a 5-kilometer and 10-kilometer egg that also houses special Pokemon. However, these eggs are only received after certain walking goals for the trainer have been achieved. Weekly Fitness challenges are the only way for players to get eggs, by spinning or by getting them as gifts from friends. However, receiving eggs is random, there is no guarantee that the player will get eggs by turning a stop or opening a gift. Players just have to be persistent and keep trying.
Incubators are Pokemon Go!
Of course, in order to crack an egg, players will need to acquire an Incubator. Three-use Incubators are also available to players in the store, although players will receive a free, endless-use Incubator that comes with the game. Choosing which Incubator can be a little tricky, but there is an easy way to choose which egg should go into which Incubator.
If players have 2 KM eggs, they must first enter the unlimited use Incubator. Hatching times are easier to reach, so removing 2 KM eggs from this Incubator will help you switch between easy to hatch eggs. If players have a three-use Incubator, 10 KM eggs must be used. Since 10 KM eggs are more difficult to hatch, it is best to use a three-shot Incubator to get the most out of the Incubator. The same goes for Super Incubators. This will help reduce the walking time players have to use to hatch these eggs. This will give players more bangs for their Incubator coin.
