R&B singer Jesse Powell dies at 51

R&B singer Jesse Powell, best known to family members for his 1996 song “You,” died Tuesday at the age of 51.

The artist died “peacefully” at her home in Los Angeles, according to her sisters, whom she recorded artists Trina and Tamara Powell.

Tamara said in a message: Statement from family on Instagram.

“As we mourn this heavy loss and celebrate his eternal legacy, the family is seeking privacy right now,” he said.

The family remembered Powell as a man who loved music and was devoted to his fans.

The statement concluded by saying, “We want you to know that you mean the world to him.”
