We can't wait for Nathan and Nora's comeback.

Freelance journalist writing about a bit of everything and interviewing interesting people. Pretending to be an adult, convincing no one.
Last year, sci-fi rom-com Upload dropped on Amazon Prime Video and won an instant fan base. From the brains behind The Office and Parks & Recreation, Greg Daniels, the show is set in the year 2033 where instead of dying, people can have their consciousness uploaded to Lakeview, a virtual afterlife resort.
Upload revolves around two main characters: Nathan (Robbie Amell) who works in tech and dies under mysteries circumstances, and Nora (Andy Allo), the customer service rep for Nathan at Lakeview. As the two become close, details about Nathan's death soon begin to emerge.
But after season 1 ended on that cliffhanger, how long do we have to wait for season 2? Here's everything we know so far…

There aren't many details about the exact plot of Upload season 2 yet, but we can expect it to pick up where season 1 left off.

Upload season 1 spoilers incoming!
So, Nora and Byron are in the Poconos, Nathan's at '2G' status, and Nathan's ex Ingrid has just uploaded to be with him. There are several questions season 2 will likely address: How did Ingrid die? What will happen to Nora and Nathan's relationship now she's there? What of the 'Beyond' programme? And how did Nathan *really* die?
In an interview with Collider on the season 1 finale, Daniels said: "Well, it might’ve been a mistake. I don’t know. At the time, there was this mystery aspect to the show and I didn’t wanna solve it. There’s also the romantic aspect as well, and I didn’t wanna finish that up. Those two things, I wanted to continue into a possible next season. I’m aware that it could be frustrating for people to not have complete closure on anything, but if you think about the end of Harry Potter’s first movie, Voldemort is still a problem."
Both Robbie Amell and Andy Allo will be returning for series 2.
Allegra Edwards will also return as Ingrid, Kevin Bigley as Luke, Zainab Johnson as Aleesha, Josh Banday as Ivan, and Barclay Hope as Oliver (Ingrid's dad).

It looks dramatic as ever.

Amazon Studios confirmed that Upload had been renewed for a second series back in May 2020, and that the next season will also air on Amazon Prime Video.
The distributer paused work on all of its film and TV productions in March 2020 due to the pandemic, so there have been inevitable delays to Upload's second instalment.
But thankfully, Robbie Amell confirmed that filming was back underway on 25th January 2021.
In an selfie with cast and crew posted to Instagram, Robbie said: "Upload Season 2. Day 1."

So while we don't have a release date for season 2 yet, we can be pretty confident that it's coming in 2021 (yay!), though not any time soon (soz).
Not yet, but you'll be the first to hear about it when it drops!
In the meantime, catch up on Upload season 1 on Amazon Prime Video.
