Dubbed by many as “Marvel’s most ambitious movie yet,” the film follows 10 protagonists: Gemma Chan as Sersi, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Makkari Starring Lauren Ridloff as Druig, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Salma Hayek as Ajak, and Angelina Jolie as Thena. Kit Harrington plays the human Dane Whitman, known as the Dark Knight.
The latest trailer for “The Eternals,” released earlier on Thursday, has a more serious atmosphere in terms of tone and presentation. The focus of the movie is the Eternals grappling with the prospect of appearing after centuries of being apart to help humans. Harrington’s human character, Dane, is seen asking Chan’s Sersi why the Eternals didn’t join the battle against Thanos, a destructive force that wiped out half the universe’s population five years ago. “We have been instructed not to get involved in any human conflicts unless Deviants are involved,” Sersi said. he replies. However, the Eternals slowly come together to fight together as a group.
In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Zhao discussed a scene shot on a rugged ledge overlooking the sea in Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands. Zhao said, “Our entire cast was standing on that cliff in their costumes and we played really loud opera music on the loudspeaker, we just blew it with the wind. With this ancient looking landscape, the beauty of the ocean and sky, it was so nice to see the cast come together in the Eternals formation.” said. Zhao recently became the second woman in history to win an Academy Award for best director, and her “Nomadland” won best picture.
