First Covid-19 cluster case detected in Tokyo 2020

New cases of Covid-19 were detected in Greece’s artistic swimming team at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics held in Japan.

According to the news of the public broadcaster NHK, based on the Organizing Committee sources, the first Covid-19 cluster case of the tournament was detected.

Cases of clustering arose among members of Greece’s artistic swimming team.

Covid-19 was detected in 5 people, 4 of whom were athletes, in the artistic swimming team of Greece, which took the virus test.

Team members with Covid-19 will be put into quarantine period.

The committee had previously announced that the number of people infected with the virus increased to 322 among those accredited to the Tokyo 2020 Games, which opened on July 23.

Number of cases increased to 322 at Tokyo Olympics

The number of people who were accredited to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in Japan, who caught the coronavirus, increased to 322.

The Organizing Committee announced that Covid-19 was detected in 28 more people who came to the country as part of Tokyo 2020.

Among the 28 people infected with the virus in the last 24 hours, there are 4 athletes competing in the tournament.

19 contract employees and 2 official officials serving within the scope of the tournament are among those infected with the virus.

Thus, the number of people who were accredited to the Tokyo Olympics who were infected with the virus increased to 322.

Those who were detected with the virus were placed in the quarantine period.
