The 74th Cannes Film Festival has started. On the opening day of the festival, the movie ‘Annette’ was screened. On the first day of the opening, star names appeared on the red carpet.
The star of the red carpet was model Bella Hadid. Hadid dazzled with her grace.
The obscene gesture of the interesting guest marked the red carpet of the first day.
The 74th Cannes Film Festival started on Tuesday, July 6th. The festival, which was canceled last year due to the corona virus, could take place in July instead of May this year. After France lifted the curfew against the corona virus in June, the festival began, albeit under strict social distance and infection control rules.
One of the guests on the red carpet for the premiere of the movie Annette almost stole a role from the actors with her pose. Wearing a gold leaf patterned outfit, the woman posed with her arm raised.
Organizers set up a vaccination area and a testing center near the festival site. While wearing masks outdoors is no longer mandatory in France, festival attendees are required to wear masks indoors.
JURY CHAIRMAN: SPIKE LEE
US director Spike Lee became the first African-American to preside over the Cannes Film Festival jury. Lee chairs an eight-member predominantly female jury, which includes Maggie Gyllenhaal, Melanie Laurent, and French pop star Mylene Farmer.
Lee is a regular at Cannes and his latest film “BlacKkKlansman” won the Cannes Grand Prix in 2018.
WOMEN ARE MAJORITY IN THE JURY
There are more women than men on the Cannes Film Festival jury this year, but many of the members, including French actress Melanie Laurent, said they dream of a time when female representation in the film industry is no longer newsworthy.
The musical, starring Adam Driver and Marion Cotillard, kicked off the Cannes Film Festival. The impressive and highly theatrical “Annette,” directed by French director Leos Carax, was canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and was on hold in Cannes.
